A Higher Perspective

Sometimes, we are too close to a situation to get a proper perspective. If that’s the case, we need to take a step back. Being too close makes it difficult to see the bigger picture. Even then, we don’t always see what we need to see.

God’s perspective is an eternal one. He views situations through an eternal lens that provides a much larger picture; one that often transcends generations.

It’s always good to step back and take a look. It’s even better to get the opinion of others, but it’s best to ask God for His view. He can show us things that our natural eyes aren’t equipped to see.

He’s been known to perform miracles in the lives and situations of many. His view is the best view. Care to take a look? Simply ask Him to show you.

Beware of the Thieves!

Thieves are everywhere, and all too often, we don’t recognize them. Unlike the squirrel above, many of the robbers in life aren’t so visible.

“Where did the time go?” declares many people. Did it fly away? Did someone steal it? Time is one thing we can never get back. Where does your time go? Do you spend too much time on the phone? Perhaps the internet devours your hours. What about TV? The list can be endless.

Do you protect your time by setting goals and establishing boundaries? If not, you may be watching time fly out the window.

What can you do to avoid time loss? You don’t have to be productive 24/7, but it is good to budget your time. Time budgeting can make your work more productive and your down time more enjoyable.

Watch out for those thieves!

Trust

This picture is a vivid reminder for me. I can trust the hand of God or go to the feeder. There’s nothing wrong with going to the feeder – unless God calls you to eat out of His hand.

The feeder is familiar and safe. Why is it that we don’t see God’s hand that way? Or at least I struggle to see it that way at times.

When others are going to the familiar feeder, I sometimes wonder why I’m called to go to His hand. You would think by now that I would be eager to go, to trust, and to obey, yet sometimes it’s still difficult. I know in my head, that wherever He directs me to go is the best place, but sometimes my heart is slow to catch up.

How about you? Are you quick to hear and obey? Do you automatically trust Him? Most of us get better at it, but it’s a process.

The Master’s hand is open to you. Will you draw near? Will you partake of His offering? Stay awhile. Enjoy His presence. Trust Him, for He is trustworthy.
