Stop Ahead

Sometimes God warns us to stop ahead. Don’t barrel through – stop! If we’re not listening we can end up crashing and wondering what happened.

Just because God gives us the OK to move ahead doesn’t mean “move ahead forever”. Sometimes we need to stop and turn. Sometimes we’ve missed the turn and need to go back to where God is leading us.

Just because we’re picking up momentum doesn’t mean we keep going. Perhaps God wants us to tarry awhile. Maybe He has a Divine Appointment set up for us.  Perhaps we need further instruction before we continue the journey.

God will give us the road signs to direct us. If we’re watching and listening we’ll benefit greatly. If not, we’ll learn the hard way. God hates watching us learn the hard way because it breaks His heart.

He wants to lead us in the best possible way. Will you heed the signs?

Shades of Green

How many shades of green do you see? Think about all the colors and shades of each color in nature alone. It’s quite amazing really.

I think God did an awesome job! He could have made everything in black and white. How boring would that have been! I think God takes great delight in making things special – just for us. There is extensive variety in everything He created. And look at us! We are all uniquely made.

No wonder the Bible tells us we can clearly see God’s invisible attributes through nature. If we take the time to ponder nature, we will discover how intricate and remarkable creation is.

All too often, we take the beauty of nature for granted. Take time this week to stop and enjoy your surroundings. Take a closer look and think about the complexity of God’s creation. Enjoy the process!

Someone’s Watching You!

We can all put on our best behavior when we know someone’s watching us but what about the rest of the time? What about those unguarded moments when we think no one is watching? That’s when our true character shows.

Are we living a double life? Are we being real? There’s an element of truth that we all put our best foot forward at times but is our best foot that much better? Are we being real or fake? Are we trying to present ourselves as something we aren’t?

These musings are not meant to condemn but to get us to reflect on what’s really deep inside. What do other people see when we think no one is looking? How do we become or continue to be the person we are publicly?

It’s all food for thought. Without thinking we will never plan. Without a plan we will never change. Reflective thought can sometimes be painful but it is the springboard to change.
